Since we are going to stop giving workshops, no new workshops will be scheduled. At the moment, people are being trained as drummers according to the system of NatuurlijkZijn. Soon these people will be here on the site and you can contact them for workshops.
Spending a weekend with yourself
In a weekend with different rituals to make a drum and be with yourself. At a beautiful location that is a hundred meters away from the edge of the forest where it is nice to be on your own in between the activity. We start with an impressive ritual that is a starting point for the development process of the weekend. During the weekend there is also room to work with this process if desired.
You meet people with the same interest(s) and can make new contacts.
You can express your choice and then make a reliable ally over the weekend.

You will then arrive the appointed weekend at 7 p.m. on Friday and go home Sunday afternoon with a drum you are proud of.
Meals and overnight accommodations are included in the price. So is the relaxed atmosphere in which the weekend will run. We use only Indian Time in which “that” is what happens.
During the weekend you will be told all the do’s and don’t’s regarding the use of the drum.
What choices do you all have?
You have a choice of two woods: cedar and spruce. The different diameters are 60*, 50, 45, 40, 35 and 30 cm.
Cedar has the advantage of being lighter in weight than spruce. A fun fact is that the first drum ever made was made of cedar. Because cedar is a more expensive type of wood there is an additional charge of €35.00.
The choice of hides are: Horse, Goat, Red Deer and Fallow Deer. Of the fallow deer we have several varieties: Axis axis, Sika and the famous Bambi.
Should you have your own skin that is also negotiable.
* Size 60 cm gives an additional cost of € 15.00.
When I was introduced to a shaman drum at the Health Fair, I was immediately sold. What a beautiful instrument! That sound… it touched me deeply. And how special that you can make such a beautiful drum all by yourself. I knew immediately that I wanted to do this in a workshop lasting several days. I had the idea that in this way you could fully experience the process of making a shaman drum. That turned out to be completely true!
It is wonderful to have these days to focus completely on yourself and your drum. Gerard guides you with all his knowledge and skills in making the drum. Even if you do not fully understand or have not done something right, he always helps you with angelic patience on the right path. Ans especially took care of the inner man. Not only with delicious and healthy dishes, but also with her loving rituals and personal guidance.
I never thought I could make such a beautiful drum all by myself, but with the help of Gerard and Ans it was easy and super fun. They make a nice team that complements each other beautifully.
In short, a great weekend where you experience – in your own way – the process of making your own shaman drum very intensely. Highly recommended!

The shaman drum making workshops provided by Gerard and Ans is not just drum making. It is much more than that and I am glad I took the step to do this at the time.
I learned there to reconnect with myself, learned why I do things that I do.

The convenient tensioning system ensures that you always have your drum at the right tension and therefore always sound great.
